“The ESSENTIALS”

 

          All prospective CrossFit Essentials students should start by downloading and reading these pdf documents from the CrossFit Journal  issues titled “What is Fitness” & “Foundations.”

          CrossFit Essentials requires prospective students to begin with our “ESSENTIALS” program.  This is our introductory/ On-Ramp course which is a free-flowing number of personal training sessions not to exceed (5 classes).  The sessions are in an open forum setting, possibly a class setting with a client to coach ratio no greater than 5 on 1.  Each class lasting 45 min. to 2 hours long.  This is of course going off of the clients/coaches availability, clients learning pace and over all comfort levels.  These classes are intended to be attended before graduating to the group training sessions.  If more time is required or requested we are very happy to set up additional personal training sessions, but of course at an additional cost.

          Joining us as a more experienced CrossFitter or other sport athlete you are still asked to attend this course. The course is for you to have some time to improve your skills in your weakest areas. We have found that the way CrossFit Essentials “does CrossFit” is different from other CrossFit Affiliates.  Our business model is simple.  Hold nothing back, give everything we have, keeping the quality of coaching, equipment, and facility at its highest level possible.  We concern ourselves with proper technique and body mechanics insuring that it stays constant before worrying about intensity i.e. weight on the bar.  Having said that, yes you may be able to lift a great deal of weight, but wouldn’t you want to know how you could lift more?  Do you know how to run with minimal effort but faster?  Do you know all there is to know about flexibility and mobility?  How is your diet?  Yes, you may have been “doing this” for a while but wouldn’t you want to find out if we know other cool and awesome stuff? Our coaches would love to share with you and have you share with us so we all grow stronger together.

          A majority of our experience has been that most people are intimidated by CrossFit’s vast amounts of movements and generally do not have a great deal of experience with Olympic Weightlifting, Gymnastics, Powerlifting, Mobility techniques, and are usually not formally trained in running.  These are some core elements to CrossFit that we go over in the course.  Of course these are skills needing to be developed over time, and developed from the basic to advanced correctly in order to get the most benefit, prevent injury, increase longevity, and ultimately being as fit as possible for as long as possible.

          Proper technique is the highest priority at CrossFit Essentials with amounts in weight and fast times for a workout taking back seat.  They will of course be a driver later in your training but without moving correctly and with economy you are just fighting yourself and asking to be injured. We feel if you move correctly you will inherently grow stronger and become faster but not the cast in reverse.  This is not a matter of personal fitness level, this is an introduction to a new vast sport, fitness culture, or lifestyle of fitness.

          Throwing people directly into a group class can be a recipe for confusion, frustration, and disappointment.  Thus leading to a lack of results and personal goals not being reached.

COST: FREE

OF NOTE: Classes are capped at 10 attendees thus being by appointment and requiring you to sign in up an hour a head of any class via our class schedule <—– click there:)

HOW TO: 

1. Simply click on Check the schedule at the top right hand side of our home page.

2. Create an account

3. Chose the desired class you would like to attend and make a reservation.

4. “Purchase” the free drop in the menu and you are all done:)

          (It will prompt you for payment but no transaction will happen.)

COST: $50.00

CONSISTS OF: 45min. to 2 hour personal training sessions.

WHAT TO EXPECT and WHAT YOU GET:

CrossFit Essentials will provide you with a learning package with articles and videos going over tons of useful information.

This is a case by case basis covering the Science of CrossFit, the 9 fundamental movements of CrossFit, basic to advanced mobility, gymnastics/ plyometrics, Kettlebell, Medicine Ball, Running, Jump Rope, Rowing, PowerLifting, and Olympic Style Weightlifting techniques.  And for more advanced/ experienced athletes if desired Strongman Lifting Techniques.

You should come in weather appropriate, comfortable athletic attire allowing you to move freely.
